WHAT IS DAXXIFY?
Daxxify is one of the newest botulinum toxin products (the “new Botox”) from Revance Therapeutics. It is made with a peptide formula instead of animal-based components or human serum albumin. This makes it the first neuromodulator option formulated using synthetic peptide materials. The unique formula enhances the product’s stability, making it long-lasting. Daxxify is FDA-approved to treat glabellar lines or severe frown lines between the brows. These vertical lines develop over time from repeated facial movements and are made more prominent as the skin ages and lose volume.
Like Botox, Daxxify uses botulinum toxin to temporarily prevent muscle contractions which prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles on the overlying skin. This means that results are overall similar, but Daxxify is preferred for some patients due to variations in its formula. Since the Daxxify formula does not contain added proteins, you can benefit from longer-lasting and consistently great results.
Daxxify can be injected using a small needle after thoroughly cleansing the injection site and, as needed, applying a topical numbing agent. Injections can be completed quickly, with appointments often lasting just a few minutes. After Daxxify injections are complete, patients can immediately return to their normal routines with few side effects.

DAXXIFY CANDIDATES
Most men and women who want to eliminate the appearance of frown lines can benefit from Daxxify injections. Frown lines are also referred to as “11 lines” or glabellar lines—they are the vertical lines that form between the eyebrows. Like other neuromodulators, Daxxify is likely beneficial for off-label uses, especially dynamic wrinkles in other areas such as horizontal forehead lines or crow’s feet.
You should be in overall good health without any known allergies to botulinum toxin or other ingredients in the formula. Like other neuromodulators, Daxxify is useful for dynamic wrinkles, meaning those caused by repetitive movement. Patients who are concerned about other lines or signs of aging may benefit from other injectables, such as dermal fillers. Often, Dr. Sárraga will recommend a combination of injectables to create a more complete result, addressing signs of aging throughout the face. This can be discussed during your consultation.
Daxxify results last an average of six months and, for some, up to nine months total. This makes it a great option for patients who have previously used other neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport but are looking for longer-lasting results. First-time patients may be encouraged to try options with less long-term results to ensure that they are happy with their new appearances first. DAXXIFY RESULTS
After Daxxify treatment, minor swelling and injection site bruising are common but will subside within a few days. Patients may also see some redness or experience some tenderness, which quickly subsides. There is virtually no recovery time, and you can see results in as little as 2 days. Some patients experience headaches after receiving Daxxify injections, but this side effect should quickly resolve. It is best to avoid strenuous activity, applying pressure to the injection site, or drinking alcohol, or taking any blood-thinning medications, as these can increase risk of bleeding or bruising. Dr. Sárraga will provide specific instructions to care for your injection sites after receiving Daxxify treatment.
