Rhinoplasty is a type of surgery that can change the nasal shape appearance. Dr. Sarraga strives to achieve the most glamorous design for the nose that compliments a person’s unique facial features without compromising the nasal functions. He specializes in closed rhinoplasty whereby he changes the architecture of the nose bridge (dorsum) and tip without visible incisions.

Why Choose Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty and septoplasty (moving of the center plate of the nose) can become a must for patients that undergo a nasal injury or blockage that prevents regular breathing or compromises the nasal structure. Most of our patients pursue rhinoplasty simply because they desire to improve the shape or size of their nose and to bring it into harmony with the rest of their face.

How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost?

Dr. Sarraga considers it his utmost responsibility to help clients to fulfill their aesthetic goals, so we make sure you understand the exact costs of your procedure. Since the costs of surgery at our Aventura Surgical Facility involve the price of surgical and post-operative care, as well as the surgical tools required for the procedure, Dr. Sarraga will discuss all the costs associated with your respective surgery during your consultation.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure

Your consultation with Dr. Sarraga is the best time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about the procedure. Dr. Sarraga usually prefers the closed rhinoplasty technique over the traditional open techniques, which means no incisions are made on the surface between the nostrils. Instead, the procedure is performed through the nostrils by integrating specialized hardware and techniques. Frequently, incisions are created underneath the nostrils so they can be restructured. A soft stent is sometimes placed in the patient’s nostrils to allow continuous breathing during the recovery period.

After completion, the nose is held in place by a custom splint that Dr. Sarraga creates to mold your new nasal shape. It is attached to the top of the nose using an adhesive tape and usually removed in a week. Some gauze may be placed underneath the nostrils to prevent bleeding and dripping. Dr. Sarraga and his staff are confident that this method produces groundbreaking results with shorter healing times. In addition by avoiding external incisions (like in an open rhinoplasty) the recovery time may be shorter and you may be able to enjoy your results sooner.

Recovery

Medications to counter swelling, bruises, and discomfort that follow the surgery are prescribed beforehand. Rhinoplasty requires a recovery period of 1 to 2 weeks, but the time for a complete recovery may vary due to the type of treatment and extent of surgery, where it can span to several months. Your results can continue to settle in for up to one year after your procedure due to the delicate nature of the nose’s structure. Fortunately, Dr. Sarraga and his staff are always present to answer any questions or resolve any complications.

The first step in your rhinoplasty procedure is a consultation with Dr. Sarraga, who can assess your anatomy and intended results. He can then recommend the best treatment plan for you and ensure you know what to expect. To schedule your consultation, contact our office by calling or filling out our online form.
