When it comes to designing stunning garments for each new season, fashion designers don’t recycle any old patterns to create their eye-catching and stunning garments. Couture means custom-made to suit the creative aspirations of the designer as well as the figure of the person wearing the garment. At Andrés Sárraga MD Plastic Surgery, each facelift procedure is treated like a completely custom and bespoke work of art because each patient has their own unique needs, goals, and desires when it comes to their plastic surgery procedures.

Facelifts Are Not a One Size Fits All Procedure

With DEEP plane facelifts experiencing a sudden surge in popularity, you may be tempted to jump on this surgical trend, lured in by the results of smoother, tighter, and younger-looking skin. A DEEP plane facelift relies on a surgical technique that releases certain ligaments that anchor the connective tissue of the face to the muscle and bone in some areas, an approach that may not be necessary for everyone. In order for this deep remodeling to happen, tissue below the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) is accessed and repositioned. While this approach offers the benefits of a more contoured jawline, tightened neck, and smoother/firmer facial skin, it is not the only way for patients to achieve these natural-looking and youthful results.

What Is a 4D Facelift?

At Andrés Sárraga MD Plastic Surgery, there is no such thing as “just a facelift.” Each 4D facelift is a carefully crafted surgical plan specifically tailored to the patient’s age, ethnicity, current concerns, and aesthetic goals. The 4D involves Dr. Sarraga rejuvenating the face in 4 dimensions, including the Deep plane, the SMAS (fascia and muscle), brows and lip repositioning, the volume (excess removal and added where needed), and skin (excess removal and resurfacing) – all these changes create a tighter smoother younger and lifted appearance.

Prior to a 4D facelift, an in-depth evaluation of the face and neck is performed by Dr. Sárraga to determine the best surgical approach and repositioning. Another name used to describe this 4D facelift is a designer facelift. Your facial features and factors that are evaluated include facial balance and proportions, the fullness of tissues, cheek position, the position of brows, chin projection, jawline definition, size of the nose, lip length, support and volume loss, quality of the skin, sun damage, elasticity, depth of wrinkles, quantity of excess skin, and drooping/bulging of tissue. From this analysis, a careful selection of procedure combinations is made with you.

Dr. Andrés Sárraga’s Approach to a 4D Facelift

When it comes to rejuvenating the appearance of your face and neck with a surgical facelift, Dr. Sárraga compares the aging process, surgical process, and results to the life cycle of a bed. As you sleep on your mattress night after night, the springs begin to press down, and the mattress becomes lumpy and sunken. This is similar to the way the soft tissues of your face undergo volume loss and shrinkage, contributing to the appearance of skin laxity, sagging, and wrinkles.

Some people may choose to reinforce their mattresses with temporary solutions, but the only way to effectively restore the look and feel of your mattress is either to throw the mattress away and buy a new one (which is not a good option for faces) or by involving a highly skilled repair person. The same approach applies to those seeking long-term facial rejuvenation. You may be looking for smoother skin and more plumpness (fat grafting), removal of certain lumps and bumps (fat removal, internal repositioning), or maybe a combination of both. This is achievable with the custom approach offered by a 4D facelift.

After the internal structures have been addressed(springs have been adjusted and the stuffing changed), you must finish the process by making your bed. A properly made bed has soft, plump, wrinkle-free, and nicely tucked bedding. A satisfactory facelift has a similar appearance initially, but as time passes, skin-only facelifts leave patients with temporary improvements that fade fast with time. With a 4D facelift, the skin on the face, neck, brows, and lips are all repositioned and contoured in a way that provides a more youthful and longer-lasting appearance before being neatly trimmed and skillfully sutured in place.

4D Facelift Results

By choosing a designer facelift to help you reach your aesthetic goals, you are choosing a path with as few obstacles as possible. With a designer facelift, you have the potential to avoid the unnecessary invasiveness of certain facelift techniques, as well as a longer recovery. The results of your 4D facelift can be finely tuned to meet your goals, whether you want a subtle transformation or a more dramatic evolution. Results can include a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, drooping, and volume loss. During your procedure, we can also reposition fat pads to add contour and definition to certain areas of the face.
